Who will be our fourth Silver belt Champion?

This year has seen the introduction of a new weight class at Max Muaythai with the start of the Silver belt 4 man tournaments at 68 kilo's, with 16 fighters competing in four separate tournaments to see who the final four fighters will be that compete for the prestigious Gold belt and 1 million baht prize.

In the first Silver belt tournament the Thai contender Jenwat Sor Liamlert was unlucky to lost in his semi-final bout, allowing Thiago Alves of Brazil, a student of former star fighter Sakadpet Sor Sakunpan to take the Silver belt. In the second Silver belt tournament the Thai fans got something to cheer about when Jaoweha Sitnayoktang won the Silver belt, after going to war with American star Warren Stavone in the final. The third Silver belt tournament saw more success for Thailand when Mahasan Popthiratham, student of Muaythai legend Samart Payakarun took the main prize. There was an upset in the semi-final stages when French favorite Valentin Tibaut, was Koed by a stunning, spinning back elbow from Chinese boxer Wang Tinyue.

We now have three fighters all ready to go into the Gold belt tournament, 1: Tiago Alves, 2: Jaoweha Sitnayoktang, 3: Mahasan Popthiratham and on Sunday the 25th of June, our fourth Silver belt tournament will take place to decide the final place, with the four fighters to be announced shortly.

As soon as the fourth Silver belt has finished the fighters will get ready for the Gold belt tournament sometime near the end of July, deciding who is the true World champion and winner of the prestigious Gold belt and 1 million baht prize.
