Abdoul has one eye on the title and one on the future

This Sunday sees the final installment of the 68 Kilo Silver belt tournaments, deciding the 4th entrant to the Gold belt tournament in August. Abdoul Toure at 36 years of age is the oldest of the contenders and has one eye on the title and one eye on the future, as he looks beyond the tournament to his families future. Abdoul already has a wealth of experience having fought names such as Buakaw Banchamek in the past. Speaking of the up and coming Silver belt Abdoul admitted he doesn't know too much about the competition outside of 65 Kilo Gold belt champion Fabrice Delanon, who he respects for his big heart and strong style. Abdoul has his eyes on setting up a project for his families future outside of Muaythai and is determined to get the win to help with this. He has prepared hard for the tournament, working first at his home gym the renowned Derek boxing gym in Paris, France and has been in Thailand over a week now for his final preparation and acclimatization, based at Maxsport gym in Bangkok, he stated that it is important for him to prepare there as it also feels like a family to him and helps to focus on the up coming fights. This is his second four man tournament so he finds it easy to prepare for the different conditions compared to a regular single fight.

Abdoul joins 65 Kilo Gold belt champion Fabrice Delanon of French Guiana, Georges Salomon of France and the Thai contender Namkabuan Kiatnavy in the quest for the title and the 200,000 baht prize. The reward for also includes a spot in the gold belt tournament in August, which has a cool 1 million baht grand prize at stake.
