This Sunday is an action packed card at Max! Our weekly Sunday night Ultimate show features fighters from around the world taking on Thai opponents. The fourth bout of the night sees Sai Chanthany from France take on Superbeer Sor Watcharagym.

Chanthany has been a staple at Max for a considerable time and is always game to fight. He wasn’t interested in Muay Thai at first though. “At first I wanted to do boxing but my friend wanted to do Muay Thai,” he said. “I saw Saenchai PK Saenchaimuaythaigym fight and I wanted to be like that so I moved to Thailand.”

Since his move to Thailand Chanthany has trained and fought out of a handful of solid camps. “I was at Sitpholek gym with Alexis Barateau for 2 years and then I moved to Tiger Muay Thai. I am now at Max Sport gym. I’ve been here for six months.”

Max Sport gym is a stable for French fighters and headliner Valentin Thibaut trains out of the gym.

The training is tough but Chanthany is confident in his work. “I believe in pads and fighting and clinching,” he said about his training regime. “We spar sometimes. I like sparring with guys the same style as me.

Chanthany is a game technical fighter who is always ready to throw down no matter who his opponent is. “I just got the name of my opponent. I have seen him fight before so I know a little bit of his style,” he said.

Styles will clash on Sunday night when Chanthany takes on Sor Watcharagym. Make sure to tune in live on Channel 8 at 7:20pm Thai time, ringside at the Max Muay Thai stadium and streaming on the fite.tv app.
