The Max Muaythai fans were treated to another action packed night of fights on Sunday the 16th for July's Max Muaythai Ultimate show, which hosted a thrilling rematch in the main event and saw several fights end inside the distance.
Highlight of the show was the rematch between Mangkornpate Or Sabaitae and Luke Bar of Wales. Luke finished strongly in the final round of their first encounter to snatch victory away from Mangkornpate. This time Luke started stronger and looked sharp in the first two rounds as he traded heavy punches and elbows with the young Thai warrior. Mangkornpate had managed to cut Luke in the opening round with a sharp elbow and came on strong in the third round, closing down Luke fast and tying him up in the clinch, scoring well with knees. Luke looked slow to return with anything and Mangkornpate managed to surge ahead and take the decision, setting up a potential 3rd match between the two.
The pre main event on paper looked like a potential thriller in the making, between Ultra Artit A.I.T and Singtothong Sor Kunlawong from Laos. Both had looked impressive in previous Max Muaythai performances. Singtothong pushed forward from the start, but struggled a little to pin down the elusive Ultra, who landed with some sharp body kicks and went close a couple of times with high kicks. In the second round Ultra looked very sharp again and soon had Singtothong hurt with some sharp knees and landed with a hard high kick, before catching Singtothong with a perfectly timed teep that sent the young Laotian fighter down for the count.
